Hosting
Our hosting service is fully managed, so you don't have to worry about a thing. We'll buy the domain, keep it renewed, organise DNS, set up email, make sure you've got enough disk space and bandwidth, and we're always there on the end of a phone to answer any questions or sort out any problems you may have.
Beetlebrow web sites are generally hosted in our dedicated hosting environment. However, we can deploy sites on your own servers if you prefer.
Our web sites are hosted on our own dedicated multiprocessor server cluster to provide high levels of availability and performance. This environment is located a Pulsant data centre which is a modern purpose-built carrier-grade, secure environment, manned 24 hours a day with excellent levels of uptime and performance. Beetlebrow web sites are showing 99.99% availability over the last 24 months, so you can rest assured that your web site will always be up and running.

Beetlebrow uses the Apache web server as the front end server for all our web sites. For maximum speed, our content managed Plone web sites are cached and served as static HTML pages by the caching server Squid. Both Apache and Squid are recognized as industry leaders in terms of web site reliability and performance.
Our CMS solutions are based on the award winning portal software, Plone. Plone is layered is layered on the Zope Application server, a highly scalable product that uses the market leading object oriented language Python and ZoDB, a high performance object oriented database.
Beetlebrow can set up email redirects to your web mail, host POP3 mailboxes for you, set up MX records to point to your Exchange Server or do whatever is needed dependant on how your email is arranged.
When you have a new web site built with its own domain, you'll probably want email addresses for that domain. If your web site is www.yourbusiness.com, then people will expect to be able to contact you through sales@yourbusiness.com or joe.bloggs@yourbusiness.com.
There are many ways to set up email on a domain. If you're a sole trader or an SME, you may opt for your employees to use web-based email accounts such as gmail or perhaps you prefer to set up a POP3 mailbox for each person instead. We will then create the email addresses with your domain, and make sure they point to the right place.
If you're a larger organisation, POP3 mailboxes might still be the best solution, but often a separate mailserver (running Exchange or some other backoffice software) is better. We can then point the mail records for your domain to that mailserver, which delivers the mail to the right internal mailboxes.
If you previously had a web site at the same address, you may well already have your email set up. Alternatively you might need it to be redone, if it was run by your previous web design company.
Whatever your previous or existing email set-up, or if you have no email set up yet, we can advise you as to the best, most robust and cheapest solution, which will fulfill the email needs of your company.
