The brief for this internal ITV web site was for a web design that stimulated thought and creativity. ITV Imagine were the ITV's innovation department and the web design featured innovative contextual navigation and other imaginative characteristics such as keyword tag clouds that are more mainstream today.
After research into the operations of companies such as Google, Disney, Apple, Pixar, NBC Universal parent General Electric and 3M, ITV Imagine was setup as the innovation department within ITV with the remit of evangelising modern technologies and forecasting future trends within broadcasting and production. Setup in 2006 it was seen as an essantial component of ITV's growth strategy.
Unfortunately in 2008 ITV Imagine was disbanded as part of a larger cost-reduction exercise across the ITV.
